Minister: border protection is not a human rights issue!
It is high time for Brussels to realise that central Asia is key to Europe’s security, as 30,000-35,000 migrants leave Afghanistan every day, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Wednesday.
Â
Szijjártó told a joint press conference with Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin that if the countries of Central Asia decided to open their borders and allow migrants to pass through, Europe would face an even larger wave of migrants than the one experienced in 2015.
“As a result, human rights lectures should be finally abandoned and real support should be provided to the countries neighbouring Afghanistan in order to help them protect their own borders,” he said. “We propose that the European Union at least double the 20 million euros allocated for this purpose and that we transfer this support to the countries of the region as soon as possible,” he added.

Tajikistan is protecting 1,344 kilometres of border with Afghanistan and it is high time that the EU provides effective support,

he said.
“We can be thankful to the Tajiks that despite the pressure exercised by international organisations and NGOs, they keep their borders closed,” he said. “Had they not done so, many hundreds of thousands of migrants would be knocking on the southen borders of Hungary along the Western Balkans route,” he added.

Szijjártó said it was high time that Europe, Brussels and NGOs understand that border protection is not a human rights issue but a security issue. If this does not become a generally accepted position, Europe’s security will face serious challenges, he added.
In 1956, Austria and other European countries of the “West”should have acted according to yacht-loving Petrisinu Szijjartu’s principles, when the desperate migrants were the Hungarians. And also in 1989, when many Hungarians were less desperate than in 56 but still had a strong desire to emigrate.
Hungarian government is very selfish and has got very short memory.

Szijjártó is 100% right.
Any paid Soros agent that would compare the Hungarian uprising and the Soviets crushing the Hungarian uprising with the migrant invasion of Western countries is lying.
It is revolting to see paid Soros agents trying to use the Hungarian uprising for their far-left, globalist propaganda.
After reading Mario’s E-Mail, I did some research and talked to Hungarians who left the country and crossed into Austria. The following points emerged: 1. Hungarians leavings always checked in with border officials of Austria and were allowed to enter. There was no illegal entry. 2. Hungarians were kept in camps and they were grateful. 3. Countries sent representatives, and refugees applied to these representatives for entry into other countries. As far as I could find, no Hungarian was an illegal migrant, their entry was sanctioned by Austria or other countries 5. Hungarian young people love to travel and enjoy living abroad, many however, return after a number of years abroad. 6. Most Hungarians moving to other countries do it legally.
Istvan, as usual, is right. Each sovereign country has the right to determine who can move live in its territory. It is not a human right to illegally cross into a foreign country because they wish to have a higher standard of living. Since 2015, there were terrorist attacks by migrants in France, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain. The number of rapes by illegal migrants/refugees greatly increased in countries accepting Afghans, Somalis, etc.. Other crime statistic increased and the % of crime committed by migrants/refugees is higher than that of the population.
Therefore, border protection is a matter of security. It is easy to understand the Foreign Minister’s point of view, easy as ABC.
Germany: Migrant Crime Skyrockets :: Gatestone Institute

Migrants committed 208,344 crimes in 2015, according to a confidential police report that was leaked to the German newspaper, Bild. This figure represents an 80% increase over 2014 and works out .
Nah Mario, Hungary is not acted selfishly. They are acting in their best interests as the numbers of those who were fleeing in the late 50s are miniscule to the massive amount of refugees from Syria and Afghanistan.
The massive increase in asylum seekers is placing an extra burden on countries like Tajikistan, which the Hungarian foreign ministry pointed out. Countries like Tajikistan need to be helped and not lectured by so called “human rights activists” who have done more harm than good. We can all remember how the West removed Ghadhafi because of human rights violation. They also wanted to remove Assad in Syria. Their concern for human rights only led to further human rights violation.
I am a former Hungarian freedom fighter who escaped in 1956. I can attest that every word MVT said about those events is 100% correct.
Thank you for the detailed description of those events.
